Minnesota Virtual Academy Now Enrolling for 2018-2019 School Year

HOUSTON, Minn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Minnesota Virtual Academy (MNVA), an online public school program of the Houston Public School District, is now accepting enrollments for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. MNVA is open to any student in Kindergarten through 12th grade who resides in the state.

Delivered entirely online, MNVA offers a personalized approach to learning. Students receive the support and resources they need to pursue and reach their academic goals. The school combines online instruction, rigorous curriculum and the support of Minnesota-licensed teachers to provide a personalized experience for each student.

“As online teachers, we connect with our students in such a unique way,” says MNVA high school English teacher Kristen Rohloff. “I work with students all over the state, and they each bring something special to the virtual classroom. I love being able to provide them with a personalized learning experience.”

Students are offered a full course load in the core subjects of math, science, English language arts, history, art and music. Electives include world languages, as well as high school honors and Advanced Placement® courses. Students and families communicate with teachers via phone and email, and are provided a unique approach to learning that helps prepare students for post-graduation career and college success.

Outside of the virtual classroom, MNVA offers student clubs and in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social gatherings to foster a sense of school community, including an in-person graduation ceremony in the spring.
